Shapes of What Came to Be
We want to see a shape to our life, a through line that hangs it all together. We look for discernible causes and consequences, or at least a few general principles, and if all goes well, an ending that makes sense out of a beginning and middle. But what if it’s just a series of overlying fictions? Regarding this one life, it’s hard to say with certainty.

Suddenly we were Pascal’s thinking reeds who could contemplate the Universe,
and eliminate ourselves from it.
